New Moanataiaris had sale at 2s, Is lid and 25., Old Alburnias sold freely at firmer rates, business being reported at from 2s to 2s Id to 2s 3d, buyers still offering 2s 3d, with sellers at 2s sd. New Saxons were done at from sid to 6d to sd. Coronations changed hands at sd. Golden Belts (contributing) were don© at 2s 8d and (paid up) at 3s. Pride of Waihis sold at Is lid. Talismans* lit 7s 3d, and Waihi Beach Uniteds at 4i<d. There were several transactions in Waihi Extendeds at from 7» 6d to 7s 7d to 7s 5d to 7s 6d. For Komata Reefs buyers were offering 2s 2d, with sellers at: 2s 3d, Waihis had sellers at £5 17s 6d, no buyers quoting. Grand Junctions were offered at 48s, without buyers. In investment linos New Zealand Insurance had firm inquiry at £5, sellers £5 2s. For Standards buyers advanced to 18s 3d, no sellers quoting. Hikurangi Coals sold at 13s 6d. About 100 dairy cows and heifers, anything good and clos* to profit selling remarkably well. Good cows, £6 10s to £8 7s 6d; wellgrown heifers, £5 15a to £7; heifers in calf, btit too small for dairy purposes this season, or out if condition, £3 15s to £4 ss; 18-nionths' empty heifers, £3 10s to £4; 495 fat sheep sold readily;. wethers, IBs to Ms; ewes, 16a 9d to 18s; 391 hoggets were eagerly sought after, 9? 9d for small to 16s 4d for really good. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report:— Friday, September 3, wo held our monthly stock sale at Ngsruawahia, and had a large yarding of cattle, from strong calves up to 2i-yßar-olds. ■'■'. Young cattle were much lower la price, owing, no doubt, to the turnip crops be- : ing finished and the grass backward. A good ' many pens were reserved at the hammer, but eventually most oi! them were quitted . before leaving the yards.. Well-bred steers, from 18-months' to°2i years, were eagerly sought after, and elicited keen competition; 18-months' and 2-year-olds varying from £3 10s to £4 6s; 2£-year-oias, £4 lis to £5 8s; well-bred strong calves sold at from £2 to £3 Bs, others £1 10s to £1 18s; mixed yearlings, £3 lCs to £2 16s; quiet yearling and 18-months' heifers, £2 14s to £5! 17s; store cows, £2 10s to £3. We had 8. large yarding of dairy stock, a number of them being heifers at profit; these Bold at from £5 10s to £6 10s:, newly-calved heifers, £4 5a to £5 6s; backward' heifers, £4 4« to £4 J.os; aged gill backward cows < at store prices.
