TO THE MUNICIPAL ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF WELLINGTON.

T ADIES and GENTLEMEN,— I beg -L' rewpectfuly to remind you that I am seeking re-election to a seat in the City Council, and heiewith solicit the honour of your votes and interest. GEO. WILTSHIRE.

ELECTION OF CITY COUNCILLORS. TO THE BURGESSES OF WELLINGTON.

T ADIES and GENTLEMEN,— AnJ— ' other professional accountant has just announced himself as a Candidate. I agieed to stand because I knew that the city's balance-sheet gave evidence of serious laxity m the department concerned, and because I felt that an advising accountant with banking experience would be of assistance to the Council in matters requiring special knowledge. The balance-sheet disclosures by me (vide "N.Z. Times," 13th, 14th, and 18th inst.) appeal' to have caused the citizens to share this opinion. There is however, a danger that, with two accountant candidates in the field, the electors will divide their votes, with the result that neither will be elected. In the circumstances, I consulted a large section of my supporteis, placed the position before them, and asked their advice. They unanimously urged me to adhere to my candidature, on the crroundls that I was first in the field ; that the electors will certainly recognise my prior claims — especialv for the work already done — and that my retirement would be aipt to be misunderstood. I have therefore decided to go to the Poll, in the full confidence that the electors will do the right thing, and A r OTE FOR ME. Your faithful servant, Y. M. BRAUND.

TO THE ELECTORS OF WELLINGTON.

IF in j oui opinion the past administration of municipal affairs has been to your satisfaction, you ought to suppoit one or other of the old Councillors for Mayor, and you ought to return all the Id Councillors who offer themselves for Re-election. There is only one way to judge fairly and that is BY THEIR WORKS. One Candidate for the Mayoral chaii says the widening of Adelaide-road cost Sixty Thousand more than it should have. The widening of Frasers 1 Lane cost more than we were led to beherve. Let" us look at only a few items of needless waste of money that should and could have been saved by ordinary business carei — Adelaide-road • £ 60,000 Byko Corner : 13,000 Kent Terrace Culvert : 1,050 Compensation Engineer 600 Post Office Deviation 1,200 Frasers Lane, loss of £7 a foot as compared with what it could have been bought for, 955 ft. : : 6,685 £82,535 Now this trifle may seem small to City Councillors, but would any one of them in his own private affairs be willing to make such a loss? However, it is a free country, and if you aie satisfied all right. If not, and you want a change, I am willing to do my httlei best in your interests. F. LOUDON.

TO THE CITIZENS OF WELLINGTON.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,— In response to the repeated requests of a number of Electors, I have decided to offer my services to the City as Councillor. As a resident of over twenty-five yeans, I claim to know a little of its requirements, and as a master builder for that time, I think my experience may be of service m the Council's deliberations on the various works projected. As a large ratepayer, I should endeavour to conserve the best interests of the City. Economy with efficiency will be my policy. I have no axe to grind, and am totally opposed to touting for votes. I offer my services to the city, and leave myself in your hands. Should you honour me with a seat m the Councn-tfoom. I shall use my best endeavours to merit your confidence. Respectfully yours, JAMES TREVOR.

ONSLOW BOROUGH.

MAYORALTY.

TO THE ELECTORS

I HAVE the honoui to again offer myself a candidate foi the Office of Mayor of the Onslow Borough. If by your suffrages I am returned I shall do my duty, as I see it, zealously and impartially. I am, yours obediently, R. B. WILLIAMS.
