Amateur Athletics.

Mr. Stuart Robinson, the populai and energetic honorary secretary of the Wellington Amateur Athletic Club, has, owing to the death of his father, been compelled to resign his position. The management of his business will now require his whole time. The «eciotqrlal work will be carried on until pftei the snorts meeting bv Messrs F. Ross and A. M. Stuart, who have jointly volunteered to undentake the duties. New members continue to join the ranks of the Wellington Amateur Athletic Club. Nine were elected at the last Committee meeting including the ehanmion hurdle-racer, M. Rosins:' are, and J. H. Prendeville, winner of the Harriers' road race and the Amateur Athletic Club's cross-country handicap The membenshin of the club now reaches close upon one hundred, the majority of whom are active members. Splendid entries have been received for the 1 club's sports, which take place next Saturday, and, with fine weather, there should be a goodi attendance on the Basin Reserve. All the best local runners have signified their intention, of competing, and, with a fair adjustment of handicaps, fine competitions should result. The revival of amateur cycling also promises to be a success.
