The most popular excmsion from Rotorua is tht round trip to Lak« s Tarawera, Botomahana, and the mammoth Waimangu Geyser, which often spouts its waters and mud and stones a thousand feet in the air The coach-route passes the beautiful lakes of Tikitapu and Rotokakabi, and lands passengers at the ruined village of Te Wairoa. Thence boats conrey the visitors across Lakes Tarawera and Roto mahana to the great Geyser.
