To a Sarcastic Girl.
— W. Francis Chambers
(For the Lance.) Your face declares you to be kind, Where's he who would deny it? And yet I sometimes chance to find Your luby lips belie it. I note ai charm about the way You bind your silken tresses. " 'Tis lacking in good taste," you say "To take heed how one dresses." Or, if I praise the voice that sings The songs of Tosti for me, You quote aon icy phrase that flings Its chilly mantle o'er me. A moral, Girl, completes my song, As feathers' do a bonnet, And I am wondering how long Before you act upon it.
