The most populai excursion from Rotorua is the round trip to Lake 8 Tarawera, Rotomahana, and the mammoth Waimangu Geyser, which often spouts its wateis and mud and stones a thousand feet in the air The coach-route passes the beautiful lakes of Tikitapu and Rotokakahi, and lands passengers at the ruined village of Te Wanoa. Thence boats convey the visitors across Lakes Taiawera and Rotomahana to the great Geysei.
