KARORI MAYORAL ELECTION. ri^l HE following letter has been reA ceived in reply to the deputation which waited upon Mr. W. H. Tisdall desiring that he would become a Candidate for the Mayoral Chair — E. B. Bristow, Esq., Karori. Dear Mr. Bristow, — I can assure you it was very gratifying for me to receive, and so unexpectedly, too, such a large and influential deputation as that which waited upon, me last Thursday evening, and as spokesman I shall be pleased if yon will convey to the members who composed it my heartfelt appreciation of the kind motives which prompted them to wait upon me. For some time past I had felt that I was not doing as much as I ought to have done to 'further the interests of the Borough, and that, combined with the fact that my health has not been so good as it might be, induced me to decide to retire from public life. I have, however, met with such universal kindness since I took up my residence in Karori, and especially so during the past few days, that if my health permits, and my friends wish it, I may possibly contest a future election. Yours faithfully W. H. TISDALL.
