Duncan McGregor, the New Zealand and Canterbury representative threequarter back, arrived in Wellington from Christchurch on Saturday last, and intends sojourning at Petone. I undeistand he has secured employment at the Gear Company's works there. By the way, Tom Cross the burly one, is also a resident of Petone now-a-days, being employed at the Gear works. Should he throw in, his lot with the suburbanites, the strength or the Petone team next season will be undoubted, especially as the try-gettmg three-quarter will be one of them. Talking football— though I don't generally believe in talking it out of season— the project of sending a New Zealand team to England next season seems to have died a natural death. lam told the Management Committee of the JNew Zealand Rugby Union still hold meetings but the nature of the business discussed thereat rarely finds its *ay into the newspapers. The footballing public feel with me, I know, when 1 say that something definite about the projected tour would be welcomed.
