"ly OTICE is hereby given that the 1\ following Resolution was passed at a Special Meeting of the Wellington City Council, held on THURSDAY, 22nd October. 1903, viz. — RESOLUTION. The Council of the City of Wellington, hereby makes, by special order, the following By-law under the provisions of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," and in pursuance of all other powers (if any) enabling the said' Council in that behalf. The above resolution will be submitted for confirmation at the Ordinary Meeting of the Council to be held on THURSDAY, 19th November, 1903, at 8 p.m., at the Council Chambers, Bran-don-street, Wellington, when the date on which the said By-law will come into force will be fixed. The object and purport of the proposed By-law are — To atm&nd Clause 32 of the Waterworks By-law, 1902, by the deletion of the words "for closets, urinate, and latrines external to any licensed premises," and the insertion in lieu thereof of the following words . — "For closets, urinals, and latrines in connection with any licensed hotel premises, the entrance to which conveniences is from any street or private way or from any passage way or yard in connection with or used by such licensed premises." NOTICE is hereby given that the following Resolution was passed at a Specdal Meeting of the Wellington City Council, held on THURSDAY, 22nd OotobeT, 1903, viz. • — The Council of the United Borough, known as the City of Wellington, hereby makes, by special order, the following By-law under the provisions of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," and in pursuance of all other powers (if any) enabling the said Council in that behalf. The above resolution will be submitted for confirmation at the Ordinary Meeting of the Council to be held on the 19th 1 November, 1903, at 8 p.m., at tihe. Council Chambers, Brandon-street, Wellington., when the date on which the said By-law will come into force will be fixed. The objects and purport of the amending By-law are . — (ai To provide that prior to commencement of erection of any addition to, or to the alteration or renewal of any building, an application for permission to carry out isuoh work shall be lodged with the City Surveyor accompanied by full plans and particulars. (b) To provide that the City Surveyor shall, within six (6) working days after the deposit of such plans and. particulars issue a permit or state in wharf: manner such plans, etc., require amendment. (0) To provide that no deviation, from such plane, etc., shall be made except by permission of the City Surveyor, and after deposit of plans, etc., showing such proposed deviation. (d) To provide that no such work of adding to or altering, or renewing any building shall 1 be commenced or proceeded with without a permit froni the City Surveyor. (c) To provide that no building to be hereafter erected shall be erected upon land which has not a frontage to a street, private street, or rightof-way. (f) To provide that no person snail erect any structure or subdivide any land, or sell, convey or otherwise dispose of land so as 1 to deprive existing buildings of their frontages. (q) To secure the provision of open space at the side or rear of any building. (h) To provide penalties 1 for any breach of this By law. (1) To provide for the removal of buildings, etc., obstructing Fron/tages or Opem Spaces. (j) To provide that the whole of tihis proposed By-law shall apply to the Wellington Ward, and that certain clauses sliall also apply to the Melroset Ward. (k) To repeal certain Clauses of tihe Consolidated By-law, 1898, of the late City of Wellington, and also certain Clauses of "The Building By-law, 1900." of the late Borough of Melrose.
