Harriers.

Gieat interest is being shown in the approaching Teams' Road Race, which has been inaugurated by the Harriers' Club, and this wall be increased by the intimation that a handsome challenge shield, valued at twenty guineas, has been presented to the Harriers for competition. The Harriers have allotted the shield to the Road Race, to be held by the winning team for one season, in addition to the. medals to be presented. The shield has been presented by Messrs. Whyte and Mackay, through Mr. W. A. Low (vice-president of the Harriers), and the order has been entrusted to Mr. Geo. P. White, in whose window the shield will appear when completed. By the way, the Harriers have a very live vice-president in Mr. Low. Brimful of business as he is, energetic, bustling, and keen, he still finds time

to do an. enormous amount for the club, ot which he is the foster parent, and his courtesy, taot, and enthusiasm make has familiar figure one of endearment to every Harrier. I have just seen the drawings for the challenge shield, and the design is certainly most attractive, the ground being of fine, polished oak, with silver embossed centre, beautifully engraved and lettered, and surrounded by small silver shields to bear the names of the winning teams. The date of the Road Race has been fixed for the 19th September next, and the committee of the Harriers are now working hard making final arrangements for the contest.
