IN the Challenge Contest foi £30 in Dunedin, OPEN TO ALL MAKES OF TYPEWRITERS, and taken up by the Hammond Agents, the following unanimous decision was given .— u Dunedin, 30th July, 1903. " The Committee appointed to investigate the claims of the BAR-LOCK Typewnter and the Hammond Typewnter have gone most carefully into the meats of the two machines, and have UNANIMOUSLY arrived at the conclusion that the BAR-LOCK is supenor to the Hammond. The Committee consisted of some of the best known business men of Dunedin, and £20 of the Stakes went to the Otago University funds. At the Garrison Hall subsequently the Bar-Lock showed unmistakably its supeiionty as a business man's typewnter ovei all otheis.
