My Lady Love's Bower. (For the Lance.)

It stands in an old-iachioned garden, Half smothered in blooming flowers, Where the bees do hum, And the thrushes coxae, Through the calo, sweot summer hours. The trails cf the climbing roses Hang dow n from th© roof so quaint. And over the bower The jassaimine flower Is shedding a perfume faint. My laidy love sits in the doorway, With the twilight on her hair, And the sweet clematis Bends down to kiss Her brow, that is Illy fair. And sihe sings in tihe shady bower. In a voice tJiat is sweet and clear, And the roses fair In the quiet air Are opening their floweirs to hear. TaradaJe, H.8., January 19, 1903.
