At a, recent inquest medical men testified that tetanus might arise from any injury and that many of us carried the germs of tetamus in us. Wha,t awful thong is this we're told, Of maladies that threaten us? There's scarce an evil new or old That may not bring on tetanus. The doctors tell us, without shame. That every scratch we get on us May harbour that too deadly game, The germ of awful tetanus' One doctor says within, hi® ken — (The thought just raises sweat on us') He knows of many living men Whore culture grounds for tetanus ' They keep us all in fear and awe, These leeches with ai set on us' Oh, that some germ would lock the iarc , And give the doctors tetanus'
