BOEOUGH OP LOWER HUTT. NOTICE is hereby given that a poll of the ratepayers, including all persons entitled to vote on proposals to raise loans, will be taken at the Borough Council Chambers, Lower Hutt, on WEDNESDAY, the 17th day of December, 1902, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., upon the following proposals : — 1. A pioposal to raise a^lpan of £8000 for the formation of roads, streets, and bridges within the Borough, which sum it is proposed to raise on the security of a special rate of 3-7ths of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value of all rateable property within the said 1 Borough. 2. A proposal to raise a sum of £1000 for the erection of Council Chambers in the said Borough, which sum it is proposed to raise on the security of a special rate of l-19th of a penny in the pound sterling on 1 the rateable value of all rateable property in the said Borough. 3. A proposal to raise a sum of £2500 for the purpose of purchasing water rights in the Belmont Stream for a water supply for the inhabitants of the said Borough, which sum it is proposed to raise on the security of a special rate of l-9th of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value of all rateable property within the said Borough. The debentures issued in respect thereof to carry interest at the rate of £3 10s. per centum per annum, and have a currency of 41 years. 4. A proposal to raise a sum of £2500 for the purpose of establishing and laying down a system of drainage in the said Borough, which sum it is proposed to railse on the security of a special rate of l-9th of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value of all rateable property within the said Borough. The debentures issued in respect thereof to carry interest at the late of £3 I.os. per centum per annum, and have a currency of 41 years. 5. A proposal to raise a sum of £1000 for the purpose of providing and establishing a scheme of sanitation in the said Borough, which sum it is proposed to raise on the security of l-24th of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value of all rateable property within the said Borough.
