S S KOTOMAHANA
Alt 1 n made hen w lien a steamship Was built for looks and pace She is a peail — a dieamship — Clean lme^ -designed to race Old-fashioned, \et she'.s going When newer ships aie done, And every trip she's '-how ing A taster bland of urn. Her compound engines racket And hammer at the speed But she's t lie dandy packet That gives the fleet a lead. When we are all a-dreaming, She's swaung through the night, With schooaiei -bows a-creaming And spray-foam boiling white. With wrenching throws and pistons. And salt spray on her rails, Down in the star-lit distance She's bringing up the' mails From Godley to Pencarrow, She outs thro' driving spray, A straight road — long and narrow- - She owns that track some say So keep the "reyhound flying, Old steamer, at your main. Though you grow weairy plying South, North, and South again
