MR. George Fisher wants a dock for the port of Wellington. There is not the least question about that Most of his fellowmembers of the Harbour Board do not want a dock, and a league has been talked of with the ostensible purpose of thrusting one on Wellington whether is is necessary or not. It does not m the least matter that no shipping has ever been inconvenienced through not being able to dock m Wellington Auckland has a white elephant of the kind, and it is Wellington's duty, as the Empire City, not to be outdone • • • Auckland attained the height of its ambition when, for the purpose of (Continued on page 17.)
