Karori, Victoria College v. Waiwetu The touring members of the United Club have returned from their country tour, with a record of three matches played —one won, one drawn, and one lost, and report wietched weather all along the line. The New Plymouth and Wanganui matches, in which they experienced the win and draw, were marred by the roughness of the grounds, which militated greatly against the combined play of the visitors, and, perhaps, affected the results, but at Hawera they met foemen more than worthy of their «iteel and had to be content with a defeat. The Palmeiston match had to bo abandoned, on account of the weather Fortunately, the team suffered no casualties through the trip, and should put a strong team into the field on Saturday to do battle with Karori All the inteiest in Saturday's senioi games will be centred m the KaroriUnited heat, to be played on the United ground Should United score a win it will make Wellington Karon
and United ail level, but should Karon come out ahead, it will effectually dispose of United's claims, so both teams may be relied upon to put their best foot foremost, and an exciting and even game is suie to result According to Southern papers, the Canterbury Association is moving in the matter of forming a New Zealand Hockey Association. The local Association are to consider the matter at a special meeting next week, and when I have heard the pios and cons discu.ssed I wall refer more fully to the matter At present, the general opinion is that the Southern body is too "previous "
