NOTICE is hereby given that at a i p s £? c \ al meetin g of the City Council of Wellington, held on WEDNESDAY the 19th day of March, 1902, at 4 o'clock m the afternoon, the following resolution was passed by the said City Council — The Council of the City of Wellington hereby makes and passes (by «ay of special order) the following by-laws in pursuance of the powers in that behalf given to such Council by "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," and doth hereby fix the day of 1902 (date to be fixed at confirming meeting) as the date upon which the said by-law shaJl come into force. And notice is hereby further given that the said Resolution will be brought up for confirmation at a special meeting of the Council, to be held in the Council Chamber. Brandon-street, on Wednesday the 16th day of April, at 4 o clock m the afternoon. The object or purport of the said bylaw is as follows — - To make regulations as to the supolv of w ater to dwell inghouses, prescribing mode of application, size and quality of service-pipes and fittings, and other conditions for such suoply. To make conditions for supply of w ater for purposes other than domestic use, prescribing size and kind of taips, cisterns and other fittings and apparatus. To make regulations as to use of water-meters, inspection of water taps and fittings, and other matters tending to prevent waste of the city water supply. To require existing water services and fittings to be replaced by the owner of the promises with services and fittings in compliance with the by-law, where the existing services or fittings are of inferior quality or workmanship, or worn so as to be likely soon to cause w aste of water. A copy of the said by-law is deposited at ray office, City Council Chambers, Bi an don-street, for public inspection. J. E. PAGE, Town Clerk. 21st March, 1902.
