Harrison the wellknown gymnastic instructor foi home years mstructoi of the Wellington Pn\.sioal Training School is now starting a gymnasium in Wellington on his own account His practical training was gained at the well-known Polytechnic Institute Regent-street London under Gol -Sergt Elliott of the Scots Guards being a membei ot that institute foi seven years He worked his wav up from the position of "raw recruit" to a le-ader or instruct or ship in that large gymnasium whose membership foi one class alone is over three figures In order to qualify himself theoieticallv as well as practically, for his profession Mr Harrison went through courses of physiology and an atom \ uni?ir Dr Andrew Clarke, dennonstiator to the Middlesex Hospital, London Soon after his arrival in this colony six years ago, he initiated a gymnastic class amongst the members of the Wellington Rowing Club. While conducting these classes his methods were watched by the then committee of the Wellington Physical Training School and Gymnasium who evenrualh appointed him to the directorship of then g\mnaisium. Since then, Mr. Harrison has carried on his duties both conscientiously and creditably. He has had the responsibility of all the cla.s^ov and .iUo of the annual displays he'd at the Opera House during the last five yeirs and has gained the approbation of hi^ nupils the press, and the public.
