Rugby Football.
In a conversation with Mi. Hyams he informed me that my fears re the wingtorw ard w ere groundless He is not to close aiiy of these matters at the Conference — only to bring the suggestions back with him, and report them to his union. My mind is gieatly relieved and I now entertain the hope that the suggestions mav be of sucli a nractical nature that their adoption bv the New Zealand Union may tend to a more uniform reading of the rules and the better conduct of the game generally. The Alhambra Club, at a meeting last week discussed the sending of its senior team to Wellington at Easter time Ultimately, it was decided to leave the final decision of the matter to the annual meeting of the club, to be held early next month, m the meantime members are to be actively canvassed in furtherance of the tup. At the meeting several players definitely stated their intention of travelling to Wellington should a match eventuate with the Poneke Club As far as the Poneke Club is concerned I am told the\ wilf be onlv too willing to nlav the Alhambras should the Southern club's players decide to come north, and at the same time make their stay m the eitv as enjoyable to them as possible
