WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL. PROPOSED SPECIAL LOAN. In the matter of " The Municipal Corporations Act, 190i>," and of "The Tramways Act, 189 i." THE Council of the City of Wellington herpby gives public notice that such Council proposes to borrow (by way of Special Loan within the meaning of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1900) the sum of Three Hundred and Thirty Thousand Pounds, to be expended upon the undermentioned works • — ij (1) Construction of Electric Tramways in the City of W<-llinKton, with an extension of such Tramways in the Borough of Melrose . . 225,000 (2) Paving the streets along the present Tramway Line in the City of Wellington with wooden blocks . . 55,000 (3) Erection of Town Hall and Municipal Offices . . 50,000 £338,000 Each of the above sums being deemed ap propriated to the work set opposite the same. The Council proposes to pledge a Special Rate of lOd in the £ on the rateable valu e (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property within the City of Wellington as security for the said loan of £380,000 and the interest and sinking fund thereon. It is proposed that the whole amount of the loan shall be repayable at the expiration of a term of 30 years computed from the Ist day of March, 1902. Dated this 9th day of January, 1902. J. E.
