A Bicycle Romance.
She woie a pair of bloomers, when, ndmg fiibt we met, Her rosy blush of shyness, I never shall forget . Her instep had the archness, hei form the graceful pose, True tokens of her youthful pride in neatly fitting hose. I saw her but a moment, yet the glance she gave to me Took away my pe>ace for evei , and mj appetite for tea. A parr of taalor-kniokers, when next we met she wore, That made the contour of her limbs more obvious than before And riding by her side was one who strove to guess in vain However "could" she get them on 01 wriggle out again. I saw her many moments m that tantalising dress. And she promised me to change it if I'd love her none the less And once again I met that girl, no stupid knicks were there, A maiden's flowing skirt concealed the same old bonny pair. No moie in silent solitude she'il ilde along through life, Foi I pressed my hand within her own, and now she is my wife She's calling at this moment, and there's thunder on her brow , And T daire not keep her waiting, for she woais tho bieeches now 7
