The Association is being formed to carry on the business ot receiving deposits, both in hxed sums and by instalments ; lending money on moitgage and other suitable securities, payable either by instalments or at the expirsition of the terms on which loans aie gianted ; and to conduct other business as piovided by the Memoiandum of Association. It is about ten yeais since a similar institution was established in Wellington, and shares in existing companies can only now be purchased sit a very considerable premium, which alone places them beyond the reach of tne ordinary investor. These companies have for many years past paid dividends ranging fiom seven to ten per centum per annum on their paul-up capital, and in addition have accumulated laige reserve funds. The population of the City ot Wellington and the immediately adjoining Suburbs has mci eased in the last ten years from 33,224 to 49,344, while the outlying population has mci eased at an even greater ratio. The Memoiandum and Articles of Association have been piepared, and can be seen at the office of the Inteiim Secretary, Mr. J. W. Jack, 9Giey Street, Wellington, who will furnish intending applicants with full Prospectus and Forms for Application. The Association will be legistered as soon as sufficient shares have been applied tor to warrant such being done. Theie have been no contracts entered into, and no promoteis shares of any kind will be issued, or any preference given to one shareholder ovei another, neithei will there be any expense foi biokeiage.
