WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL. SPECIAL LOANS FOR TRAMWAY CONSTRUCTION AND STREET PAVING. NOTICE is hereby given that the following Resolutions were passed ata Special Meeting of the City Council of Wellington held on THURSDAY, the 17th day of October, 1901, viz — I.— ELECTRIC TRAMWAYS. In pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in the Wellington City Council by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1900, the Tramwayb Act, 1894, and the Rating Act 1894, and the Acts amending the same and of all other poweis and authorities in this behalf, the said Council hereby u solves (by way of special order) that a Special Rate of Twopence in the Pound upon the latable values of all ratable property in the City of Wellington as appearing in the Valuation Roll for the time being in foice (and on the basis of the annual value), be and the same hereby is made and struck for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund upon and in lespect of the Special Loan of Two Hundred and Twenty-five Thousand Pounds, authorised by a Poll of the Electors taken on the 19th day of Apul, 1901, to be i.used for the constiuction of an hlectiic Tramway (which said loan is moie particularly described in a notice unJer the hand of J. E Page, Town Clerk, advertised in the "New Zealand Times" and "Evening Post" newspapers, and intituled " In the matter of the Tramways Act, 1894, and of the Municipal Coiporations Act, 1900," and dated the Kith d.iy of March, 1901). And the Council fuither lesohes that the said Sinking Fund shall consist of an annual sum of Four Thousand Five Hundied Pounds. And the Council also lesolves that the said Special Rate shall be payable in two equal ins'ahnents on the Ist day of Januaiy and the Ist day of July in every year, and the said Special Rate is heieby made a continuing rate during the currency of the said loan as described in the said notice of the 16th day of March, 1901, and shall be levied yeai by year without further pioceeding by the Council until the said ' Loan is paid off. And the Council tuifcher lesolves that the said Special Rate shall be in addition to any other security for the said loan or the interest theicof. lI.— WOOD-PAVING. That the Wellington City Council hereby lesolves (by Vay ot Special Ordei) that a Special Rate of Twopence in the Pound upon the ratable values of all ratable piopeity in the City of Wellington as appearing in the Valuation Roll for the time being in foice (and on the basis of the annual value) be and the same is heieby made and stiuck for the puipose of providing the inteiest and sinking fund upon and fij lespect of the Special Loan of Fifty-five Thousand Pounds authorised by a Poll of the Electois taken on the 19th day of Apnl, 1901, to be raised foi Paving the Streets along the then piesent tramway line with wooden blocks, which said loan is more paiticularly described in a notice under the hand of J. E. Page, Town Clerk, dated the 16th day of March, 1901, adveitised in the "New Zealand Tunes " and " Evening Post " newspapers. And the Council furthei lesolves that the said Sinking Fund shall consist of an annual sum of Five Hundred and Fiitv Pounds And the Council also resolves that the said Special Rate shall be payable in two equal instalments on the Ist day of January and the Ist day of July in every year. And the said Special Rate is hereby made a continuing late during the currency of the said loan as desciibed in the said notice of the 10th day of Maich, 1901, and shall be levied yeai by year without fuither pioceeding by the Council until the said Special Loan is paid off. The above seveial Resolutions will be submitted foi confirmation at the Oidinary Meeting of the Council to be held at the Council Chambei, Biandon Stieet, on THURSDAY, the fouiteenth day of November, 1901, at 7 W p m R.
