" Rescued from the Jaws of Death."
RESCUED FROM THE JAWS OF DEATH" was the story told vi a plain but c onvmcing mannei by Mr S. A Palmer to a large audience m the Victoria Hall, Adelaide - road, last evening. The lecture w ais lllustiated by lantern views of the beauty spots of the Australian colonies Views weie also shown ot the mauguiation of the Austialian Commonw ealtl togethei with incidents in connection with the Royal visit A number ot solections weie also given by a hue giaphophone which added to the en io\ ment of those present Mi. Palmer's main object was to tell the people ot the vntues of Vitadatio, and relate- some of the cures ascribed to that remedy In his opening icmarks Mr Palmer explained that as~he had undertaken the control of the, Vitadatio business for the whole woild, he would have to leave for England, and pnoi to going was making a tour of the centres of New Zealand before he started He fiankly stated he was there to adveitise Vitadatio, and for that reason he proposed first of all to relate how he first got to know about the remedy, and of his. own marvellous cure after he had given up hope of recovomng He s>aid it was no use placing a miraculous, cuie in people's way if they could not be convinced to use it. Therefoie he- told them of his own marvellous cure, which was leally a miracle, and the story almost a fairy tale. Mi. Palmer then lelated lion he took the hist bottle to please his fi lends. When he read on the label how much the medicine was supposed to cure he Mmply laughed at the absurdity, but he had since learned that nine-tenths of the trouble was due to the bad state of the blood, and this medicine purified the body and toned up the system. Mr. Palmer said the first bottle caused the hydatids to begin to leave his body. Doctors had told him that no medicine would touch hydatids, but A itadatio did, so he consideied it a ioal discoveiy. At the same time the first bottle made him feel yen bad He went to several people m Launcefeton, who told him ot euros worked by Vitadatio. That eau.sed him to continue taking the medicine, and now he was able to face the woild. When he was better ho went to Mr. Webbci and told him he ought to be prosecuted for not making the medicine bettei known. Finally he arranged to buy the right for New Zealand, and twelve months afterwards he wai> touring the colony with the medicine. Many had been cured of various diseases in all pai ts of the colony Amongst the cures then effected were rheumatism, growths on the breasts and gall stones. Ho now added to the list hydatids, cancer, and consumption. A few months ago theie was a conference m London of scientific men to coiiMdei the question ot curing consumption and cancer. The King had himself said that anj man who discovered a cure for cancer ought to ha\e a monument laised to his mein01 \ . Mi. Palmer said they had pio\ed that Vitadatio would do it. The. trouble was that people would not believe the truth with regard to Vitadatio. He did not run round for testimo vi alb , but some who were cuiedweie eager to let others' know the value oi Vitadatio, and sent testimonials voluntarily. He had one there from a man cured ot cancer bv Vitadatio, alter the doctors had cut his tongue out and tailed to cure him. That man was lefused admibMon to the Hospital, as ho would die in. two days He was cured bv \ itadatio, but he had to take "30 bottles. Then the man who wiote out a testimonial in the presence ot a magistrate in Bendigo Mr Palmer said he would give £-">OO it any testimonial to Vitadatio was proved to be a fraud. * * * He had absolute pi oof that Vitadatio had cured consumption The audience had the evidence before their eves m the young mail Mr. John Atkinson who had manipulated the graphophone. He lived with bus parents foi some veaiv at Invoicaigill. Then tJie\ leniovcd to Victona, where he c.ontia<eted lung disease woiking in wine vaults When he took Vitadatio he appeared 1o be in the last stages ot consumption and was given up by the doctors in Melbourne His mother came to ask about Vitadatio, and he recommended the lad to try it Atkinson did so, but gave it up after taking a few bottles He started again, and gave it up Mi Pahnei said when he saw Atkinson he thought it was then tooi late, a^s the doftois only gave him two weeks to live. He, however, ofieied to give the Vitadatio for nothing For six months there was very little improvement, but as he had not died at the end of the fortnight he kept taking Vitadatio, and now he was cured, and travelled round to work the lantern. He asked to be allowed to do it, so that, people would know of his wonderful cure By calling at his shop they could get particulars of other cures from honourable men and women. Vitadatio meant life giving .uid that was icallv what it had proved itself to be in hundreds ot cases.
