WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL. PROPOSED BYLAWS.

"TVJ" OTICIt, is hereby given that the JAI following Resolution was paa»od at a Special Meeting of the City Council of Wellington, held on THURSDAY, the 22nd day of August, 1901, viz .— The Council of the City of Wellington hereby makes (by Special Oider) the following Bylaw under The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," and all other Acts and powers enabling the Council in that behalf to amend and add provisions to the Bylaw of the said Council made and passed on the 23rd day of May, 1898, and intituled "The Consolidated -Bylaw, 1898." The above-named Resolution will be .submitted for confirmation at a Special Meeting of the Council, to be held on THURSDAY, the 26th day of September, 1901, at 7.30 p.m., at the Council Chambers, Brandon-street. The object and purport of the above additions and amendments to "The Consolidated Bylaw, 1898," arc stated bolow , and a full copy of the By'aw is deposited for inspection at the Office of the City Council, Brandon-stieet. R. TAIT, Acting Town Clerk. 29th August, 1901.

The object and purport of the above additions and amendments are as follow — To provide that the bite of all buildings on the Te Aro Reclaimed Land with timber floors shall be covered with tar, asphalt, or cement conciete. To piovide that where buildings are piopased to be elected on land winch may have been laiscd above Us original level, the surface of such land may bo lequired to be covered with cement, concrete, or asphalt, and that the lower poition of eveiy building shall be so enclosed as to exclude all animals and poultry , and shall be eHectn ily ventilated. To make piovision in regard to Ho'low Walls, Retaining Walls, Rusticated Boaiding, and Manure Receptacles. To prowde for the leseivation of pas-sage-wai/s between buildings. To provide for the regulating and licensing of Hoai dings for Bill Posting, etc To pi ovule for the erection in buck, stone, or concrete of all stables hereaitcr to be erected , and to provide for the ventilating, regulating, etc , of same. To make amended provision with legaid to Rubbish Receptacles. To make provision for the licensing and general regulation of common Lodg-ing-houses. To provide for the asphalting of open "-Price at tear of buildings.
