Congratulations to Harry Goodwin (amateur champion walker), who is the father of another boy. Ireland beat Scotland in the annual international sports at Belfast on Saturday by winning seven events out of eleven. The performance of the day was P. O'Connor's long jump of 23ft. sin. Mr E. Smith, the secretary of the N.Z. Association of Caledonian Societies, has received word that the Governor has consented to act as patron of the association, and has also promised to give a gold medal to the champion athlete of the colony.
