MUNICIPAL COUNCIL.
Tuesday, May 23, 1843 COUNCIL MET.
Present—Mr. Hunter, Mayor, -in the chair. Messrs. -Aldermen Guyton, Scott, Lyon, Jenkins, Johnson, and Waitt.
The Mayor stated that he had called a special meeting, in consequence of the time having when the new Burgess roll must be made out. He therefore proposed that the fee Gf Tialf-a-crOwn be paid for enrolment as a burgess. Mr. Scott seconded the motion. For the motion—Messrs. Hunter, Scott, and Guyton. Against the motion—Messrs. Lyon, Waitt, and Johnson. Ayes 3 Noes 3 The Mayor’s casting vote in favour.
