Saturday, May' 13, 1843. COUNCIL MET. Present Mr. Hunter, Chairman, Mr. Lyon, Mr. Scott, Mr. Waitt, Mr. Fitzherbert, Mr. Jenkins. The minutes of the former meeting read and confirmed. Mr. Fitzherbert’s motion respecting the site of the Custom House was withdrawn, upon the. statement of the Mayor, announcing : " That himself, the Company’s Principal Agent, and the resident Police Magistrate, had been nominated as Commissioners for fixing upon the sites of the several public buildings on the various public reserves. The Town Surveyor stated that he should be prepared to lay his detaile d survey of the borough on Saturday next. Adjourned till Wednesday at 10 o’clock.
