THE WELLINGTON CREED.
I believe in the New Zealand Company. I believe they have taken our money for land. I believe that most of us have waited three years for the land, and have'not yet got it. I believe we shall not get it for three years longer. I believe we hav&Jjeen^bhmboozled. I believe the Wanganui landowners are a set of grumblers. . I believe they have good reasons for being such. I believe in the Native claims. I believe they will never be settled. I believe the Protector of Aborigines has a good salary. I believe in our Town Council. I believe they have done us no good. I believe they will not resign. I believe, that I don’t believe in flax. 1 believe, that though there is a great pressure in every trade, there is not sufficient pressure upon flax. I believe that the Mayor don’t believe in flax, because he has mair sense. I believe that those who believe in flax, believe they are about to make a rapid fortune. I believe they will be disappointed. Johnny Box believes in flax. 1 believe, that those who believe in flax, will find acceptance in the sight of Johnny Box. I believe there are many who believe in flax for the above reason. PETER SIMPLE.
