APPOINTMENTS.
His Excellency the officer administering the Government has been pleased to appoint the following gentlemen to be magistrates of the Territory:—William Fitzherbert, Esq, Wellington ; Charles Clifford, Esq., do.; Edward Daniel, Esq., do.; Henry Moreing, Esq., do.: Henry St. Hill, Esq. of Wellington, to act as Sheriff for the Southern district of New Ulster; Robert Strang, Esq., Clerk of the County Court at Wellington, to be Deputy Registrar of the Supreme Court for that district; Arthur Edward M-Donough, Esq., to be Assistant Police Magistrate for the southern district of New Ulster and Cook’s Straits ; and Mr. Calder to be a Pilot for the Port of Wellington, under the Harbour Regulations’ Act. George Duppa, Esq., of Waimea, District of Nelson; Constantine Augustus Dillon, Esq., commonly called the Honorable Constantine Augustus Dillon, of Waimea, do.; James Stuart Tytler, Esq., of Waimea, do; Samuel Stephens, Esq., of Motuaka, do; Alexander McDonald, Esq., do. ; Thomas Thoms, Esq., of Motuaka, do.; George Richardson, Esq., to be Crown Prosecutor for the district of Nelson; Mr. William Claringbold to be a Pilot for the Harbour of Nelson, under the provisions of the Harbour Regulation’s Ordinance, Session 11, No. 15. .
