Waitt & Tyser, on Saturday, the 21st instant, at 12 o’clock, The STORES of the Barque Indemnity , consisting of Beef, Pork, Butter, Suet, Flour, Split Peas, Oatmeal, Bottled Ale and Porter, and all the Cabin and Cooking Utensils, &c. Terms— Cash. The Goods must be taken away immediately after the Sale. January 20, 1843. THIRD ANNIVERSARY FETE. AT A MEETING of the SUBSCRIBERS, held at Barrett’s Hotel, on Monday Evening, January 16, 1843, Mr. George Smith in the Chair, the following programme was agreed to : to start at eleven o’clock. Sailing match, by Boats under 30 feet keel—three to start, or no race. Entrance, £l. Prize ,£ls. to start at half-past eleven. Rowing match, by Whale Boats—three to start, or no race. Entrance, £l. Prize, first boat, £lO. 10s.; second boat, £5. ss. TO START AT HALF-PAST TWELVE. Foot race—distance one mile. Entrance, ss. Prize £5. Three to start, or no race. TO START AT ONE O’CLOCK. Wheel-barrow race. Entrance, 2s. 6d. Prize, £2. Three to start, or no race. TO START AT TWO O’CLOCK. Hurdle race; three horses to start, or no race. Heats. Entrance, £2. 2s. Prize, £2O. Second horse to save his stakes. TO COMMENCE AT HALF-PAST THREE. Rifle match. Entrance, £l. Prize, £5. Distance, 50, 100, and 150 yards. Three competitors, or no match. All entrances for the preceding sports are to be added to the stakes. The following Rural Sports will come off at convenient intervals:— Jumping in sacks. Prize, £\. 10s., or a new hat. Climbing a greasy pole. Prize, £\., or a quarter of Mutton. Catching a soaped-tail Pig. Prize, the Pig. Canoe race, by the Natives. Prize, £5. The following gentlemen were nominated to form the Committee for conducting the above Sports : Messrs. Molesworth Messrs. Barnes ' The Committee meet every day at Barrett’s Hotel, at 12 o’clock. All subscriptions and entrance monies are requested to be paid on or before Friday evening, at 7 o’clock. The time for entering for the boat race is extended to Saturday evening. A full Band will be in attendance on the ground. January 20, 4843. JOHN ROOTS begs leave to return his sincere thanks'to Mr. R. Davis, of the Aurora Tavern, for the handsome manner in which he came forward at the Police office, to give J. R. a character, unasked and uncalled for by him (J. R.) J.
