SYDNEY MARKETS.

Flour.—This market is again in a healthy state. The greater portion of the inferior flour imported lately has been worked up, and we are left with good fresh stock at the mills. The prices are firm, namely,

Bread. —The price of the 21b. loaf ranges from to No. 1. biscuit, 265. No. 2. 21s. per cwt.

Maize is still on the advance. The dealers giving from 3s. 9d. to 4s. 2d. per bushel. The retail prices are from 4s. 6d. to 4s. lOd. per bushel.

Cattle. —The medium price given by the carcase butchers’ is about £4. 15 s. per head; prime beasts are realising £5. 10s., but those of an inferior description are not fetching more than £4; good milk cows are still saleable at £7. 10s. per head, which may be regarded as the highest price; those of a medium description are fetching from £5. 10s. to £6. 155.; working bullocks are neither offered nor much enquired after. Sheep. —Several sales of fat sheep have taken place during the week, the prices ranging from 6s. 9d. to Bs. per head; the butchers are still giving 10s. for those of the best description. Houses. —Good carriage horses are still in request, colts and fillies appear plentiful; several have been sold during the week at the cattle market, the prices ranged from £l4 to £l7 per head; the average price has been at least £ls. 15s. per head.

Butchers’ Meat. —The wholesale prices of beef and mutton, are from 16s. to 18s. per cwt.; pork, from 50s. to 565. per cwt.; and veal, from 565. to 60s. per cwt. The retail prices are as follow: beef and mutton, from 3d. to 3|d. per lb.; pork, from 6d. to Bd. per lb.; veal, from 7d. to 9d. per lb.
