ORIGINAL CORRESPONDENCE.

To the Editor of the New Zealand Colonist. Sir, —In your report of the Meeting held at Barrett’s Hotel, on Wednesday evening last, my name is mentioned as the mover of a vote of censure on Dr. Evans. I think it incumbent upon me to correct this error, and to state that the observations made, by myself were in reply to Mr. Revans, who expressed deep regret at the conduct of the Meeting in refusing Dr. Evans a hearing. The motion in question was made by Mr. J. H. Greenwood. I am, Sir, Your obedient servant, RUMSEY. FORSTER. September 26, 1842. We insert the above communication, and in so doing beg to apologise to Mr. Forster for our mistake, which was committed inadvertently; indeed,- the meeting altogether was a scene of such confusion as to render it almost impossible to avoid some inaccuracies.
