Had about 300 cattle running on the fa ta; lost 2 calves, 3 steers, and lost a ’»rge number of the herd. Mr. A. Buckland , xaunined as to the value of Messrs. Lusk and Hill’s cattle, and stated that 9 moiths old calves are not wor th £9 He considered yearlings would generally fetch £5 1). Ln k, 830 acres, Mauku, claimed £307, for pastnragemnd injury to fences, and m ire, in foal to Pacific, lost, blood colt, 2 years old, farming implements, and tools and orchard ; orchard much damaged. Mr. Manly examined as tovaue and damage to orchard. Henry Hill, from Mauku, claimed £445. 220 acres grass land, timber, damage to pre • raises, &c.‘ Eliza Roose, Pakekohe, claimed £373, for losses in cattle, pigs; poultry, and 15:) acres grass and : 300 acres rough feed, at 2s 6d per acre, damage to house. J. Mackey, Maratai, £B4 for damage done to his place and various losses ; a6O acre farm, 30 acres in grass, 2 steers and cows. J, Lord, Maratai. £174, for loss of cattle, land in grass and crop, and sundry small losses. J. Daw, Waiwa, £343, for 110 acres of grass fond, now occupation of house, loss box linen and clothes, aud various articles of furn tnro, damage to ’ onse, windows smashed. Austin, Great South Hoad, £309, a lot of cut timber, damage to premises, land in grass, ISO acres, and 13 head of cattle lost, stock yard and sheds much damaged. Joseph Banks, examined, to prove the value of stock yard, &c. Alto IS. Alexander as to value of same property. „ Dr. R. J. Hale, Wairoa, £839. Great -damage to house and premises, land in grass, cattle lost, and a number of serious losses which can never be replaced —E. Robinssn was examined as. to the value and damage done to Dr. Hale’s property. Mr. Hill, Ra na Rama, £lO9, loss of potatoe crop and sundry other losses. D. M'Nicol, Wairoa, claim for £146, bullock lilted, and a few other losses. W. Hav, Papakara, £ll6o—loss of 8 cows, £lO6 Bs-, breeding cows, 4 steers, land in grass, culture; and other crops, 9 heifers, £99, also 8 heifers, I and a half year, £42, 57 pigs. £57, Clothing and Bedding, and a nnmher of tools; bay filley, £2O, and a 2-year old Alley, £l6. J. M‘Carthy, Papakura, loss of cattle, pigs ard poultry,-and land in grass, a 2-) ear old Alloy, worth £3O, spring-cart, £B. H. Williams, Waiuku, £l2l, for house damaged, 8 acres rye grass seed, or land prepared for it and seed sown, 2 head of young cattle.J, Walters. Waiuku, £484, 5 pigs lost, demage to orchard and garden, stack wheat, loss upon 14 cows gone dry in consequence of being necessarily neglected. W. James, Waiuku, £l2B, for sundry Peter Coil, Pakaranga, £44, for sundry losses on bis farm. * J. Mauder, Wairoa £135, for losses of crops and land in grass. G. Cox, Mauku, £364. Claims Tor 35 pigs and I sheep, £46 10s.; poultry, £l3 55.; 3 heifers, £l9 10s.; 2 do., £2O , loss on sale of cattle, land in pasturage, churn and various dairy utensils, and articles of furniture, potatoes, damage to orchard and garden, fencing damaged. G. Cadlin, Waiuku, £302, for I«m of tenant, land in grass, damage to housq knd orchard, and 2 or 3 horses lost—one valued £9O. W. Currie, Waiukn, £252, for losses , and various damage done to his farm. R. Cautts, Wairoa, £253, for grass land and various pnstarage, non occupation of house, cattle lost, three bags flour, a lot of cloth.ng and book ’ about 30 valuable dairy utensils. There was a very considerable-attendance to-day from a knowledge that the Court wi 1 not tit much longer. A largo number of cases were dispose.* of and in a most satisfactory . manner. The nom’jer o I claims :oming in do not appear to diminish, but another week will greatly diminish them at the rate they are now get thrpogh. Next week from Tuesday and Wednesday being the Otahdha Races the Coart will not sit on Thursday.
