Tuesday, 23th March. ( ’efore T. Beckham, Esq., Commissioner.) G. Eastan, Bukekohe, claim for £267, lan 1 in grass, damage done to house and outbuildings and farm, See. W. Morgan, Pukokih“, £330, cattle lost, and damage to house, fences, See., and loss on sale of cattle. J. Robinson, £430, for house much damaged, loss on sale of cattle, grass and other cultivated land, damage to orchard with about 100 fruit tre s. Mr. Comrie was called to testify as to some of the losses of John Robinson. James Comrie, £312, Bukekohe, loss of cuttle, and loss on sale at depreciated prices, also a horse and damage done to house and premises, damage by thistles. G. Eastan was called as evidence. T. R. McLrnnon, £770, Papetoitoi, land taken possession of for a redoubt and military purposes, 100 acres pasturage, post and rails also used by the military, fences destroye I. J, Shaw Pakuraiiga, £sl, for damages done and land prepared for crops, and other losses, also furniture and bedding lost and damage to house. J. McKenzie, Maratai, £llß, loss of cattle at various periods. N. P. L. Wallace, Wairoa, £619, damage to property, losses, cattle, &c. 1). Kumball, Papakura, £4O, damage to house, garden, and sundry small losses. Mrs. Hand in, £527, cattle lost, for damage done to house and garden, 109 acres grass, fences destroyed and 1000 feet timber destroyed. W. Osborne Hamlin, was called as evidence and gave satisfactory evidence as to the losses sustained. Mrs. Andrewather, £535, for force! sale of farm, sundry losses and injury done. W. Kerr, £289, for a number of losses and damage to house and premises, &c,, furniture and dairy utensils. R. Farrand, Raglan, £263, for a number of losses, various cows, injury to garden and orchard, destruction of fences. T.D. Worfolk was called as evidence. F. Hamlin, Waiuku, £506, for loses of thirty-two head cattle, a large amount of pasturage deserted, aud other damage done. W. O. Hamlin was called to prove the loss of the thirty-two head of cattle. S. Law, Taupo, £515, for improvements on Government properly, and in his possessson thtee years, house built at his own expense. A, Henning, was called to testify as to some of Mr. Law’s claims. James Finlay, Maukii, £123, for damage to house and garden, cattle lost, and harness, plough and harrows.

Wednesday, March 29. T. Beckham, Esq,, Commissioner.) Mrs. Andrewather's claim was further adjusted and confirmed. llev. G. A. Purchas claimed for non-occupancy of flax mill, Waitangi, £1,278. Mr. Brookfield appeared for Mr. Purchas. Mr Steedman examined and attested the damage done to the building, and also the value of the machinery. Mr. J. Stewart, engineer, was also called and proved the value of the mill. lie believed the machinery and building could have been put up for £1,500. The mill was producing 5 cwt. of dry fibre per day, worth from £lB to £2O per ton. Orphan Home, Orakau. Claim by Rev. G. A. Purchas for £612, as trustee, 50 head of horned cattle and 2 mares lost. Mr. Allen when present in Court will give the value of the cattle. R. Nazer, Otea, £lll, for losses on stock sold at depreciated price, &c., and damage done, non-occupancy of house, &c. B. A. Bishop, Raglan, claimed £l3l, for loss of situation as medical assistant to Dr. Harsant. This claim was struck out before 11th July, 1865. J. Dangal, Raglan, claims £256, for loss from depreciated value of cattle sold, freight and expense in driving cattle and pasturage. J. Hanson, £391, Papakura Valley, f r pasturage and non-occupation, also loss of cattle, pigs, poultry, &c., and orchard destroyed. Mrs. Shepherd, Waiuku, £B3, claim for non-occu-pation of house, expense of removal. J. Belcher, Ramarama, £66 7s. for 3 cattle lost, damage done to premises and pasturage of 2 acres, tools, &c., damage to orchard. J. Belcher examined as to value and extent of damage to orchard. Rev. T. Norrie, Papakura, £26, for non-occupation, expense of removal, &c , for a short period. F. Deane, Ramarama, client of Mr. Brookfield, £577. Loss of cattle, 1 years rent paid to landlord, and living in Drury, £l2O ; loss of female dresses, £ ton bacon, and 2 casks pork. W. Smith, Papakura, £sl 125., for loss of bull shot by sentry. J. Martin, Great South Road, £685 for loss of cattle —4 calves. 4 cows, 8 yearlings ; land in grass, various crops, and damage to premises generally. H. Hey wood was called as evidence for Mr. Martin and gave very satisfactory testimony. W. Broomfield, Maratai, £llO, for sundry losses. W. Dawson, G eat South Road, £169, for losses of cattle, and loss on sale of cattle. Major Speedy, R.M., Waiuku, £407, for damage done to premises, cattle 'ost, depreciation in sale of cattle, non occupation of house worth £4OO to £SOO ; damage^o valuable bush, £IOO, ploughs, garden tools, &c. R. Clarke Cro’.hers, Karaka, £859. Loss ot bedding, tools, crockery, paid for judgment against him in Court for trespass of cattle, depreciated value in sale of cattle. W. Broomfield testified as to the value of the timber on Mr. Vidall’s bush at Maratai. F. Moschien, Papakura, £92, for pasturage and sundry losses, and fruit trees destroyed. VV. Gearm, Mauku. Claim for £349, Land in pasture, crops, and sundry losses in cattle. Messrs. Melsopp, Kefcher, and Morgan, Mauku. Claim for £279, for losses on cattle, and depreciated price in cattle sold, and dairy produce. Rev. J. Morgan also examined. R Cawley, £l2O, Papakura Valley, for sundry losses.
