By Daniel Pollen, Esq., Depu of tho Superintendent of tl Province of Auckland. lIEREAS a majority of the persoi occupying property liable to he rate under the provisions of the " Local Improve ment Act, 1858," having a frontage to th road leading from the Cathedral Library t Hay's Creek, Oraki Bay, and passing betwee lots 4 and 8, 5 and 9, 6 and 11, 7 and 12 c section No. 4, and between lots 1 & 3 of sec tion No. 14, in the suburbs of Auckland, an occupying at least one-half of the frontage t the said road, have represented to me that the; are willing to be specially rated for the purpose of improving the said road. Now therefore, I, the said Deputy of th< Superintendent, for the purpose of raising out moiety of the estimated cost of the said inv provements, do hereby, by virtue of the powe; and authority by the said Act given, order anc direct that an equitable rate, at the rate of fiv< shillings for every chain of frontage to the saic road, be levied upon all real property having t frontage to the said road, except upon sucr land as is by the said Act excepted. And 1 do hereby appoinf that the said rate shall be paid and payable to Robert Bailie Lusk, at the Provincial Treasury, on Wednesday the 22nd day of October next; and I do hereby further give notice that in the schedule hereunder written, is set forth a list of the names of the persons liable for the payment of such rate, and the amount payable by each such Schedule.
