Commercial Record.

Nkiv-Zkai.anokii. Office, Friday, August 29th, 1862. The arrivals of the week have been the African from London with an assorted cargo of goods, and a number of passengers; and the colonial whaling brig Prince Edward from the fisheries with twenty tun. .perm ail.

The departures were the barque Constance for Guam, in ballait; and barque Dunedin for Sydney with a cargo of potatoes.

The Royal Charlie cleared at the Customs this day for Callao; for which port the ship Messina (having received new main and foremast.) clear, to-morrow. The Royal Mail steamship Lord Ashley, ss.ili for Sydney, with a full cargo of colonial produce, ou Monday. This ship is becoming too small for the trade. On her last downward trip she shut out 120 tons of cargo, and wa» rather " light'* for passenger accommodation; it may therefore be presumed that either the Claude Hamilton or Prince Alfred will be placed upon this line, with, we hope, Captain Wheeler, who has earned a high degree of popularity, in command.

The produce received coastwise consisted of 1,901 buthels wheat, 1,590 bushels maize, 94 cwt. salt pork, 8 tons potatoes, 4 tons bark, IIJ tons gum, 2 tuns oil, 1 tun sperm, 41 tons firewood, 600 lbs. lard, 65 lbs. butter, 4 cwt. bacon, 10 dozen smoked fish, 87 pigs, 18 head cattle, 25 fowls, 32 dozen egg., 100 posts, 56,000 shingles, 25,000 feet sawn timber. The Custom'. Revenue received during the week ended the 23rd instant, amounted to £1,998 Is. sd.

STOCK IN THE BONDED WAREHOUSES, At the Port op Auckland on 29th August, 1862.

AUCKLAND STOCK AND SHAKE MARKET. Auckland Stock Exchange. The buoyancy which was observable' last week relative to New Zealand Bank Shares has been more decided during the lait few dayi, and buyer* will have to submit to a higher premium upon them than what has been hitherto quoted. A private transaction in that stock has lately been completed at one per cont. beyond the amount of the calls. I do not quote that circumstance as a proof of the market value of those iharei but merely as an index to the confidence placed in them as a permanent investment. Further enquiries have been made <or Gas shares, and at the same time a wish has been expressed for the early commencement of the works. My information from Coromandel this week is favourable; the reef on Preece s point has been tested, and its yield of gold has been found to be at the rate of 19 ozs. per ton of quartz. Various specimens of quart! have been brought to me this week from other localities, and as the fine weather may now soon be expected, prospecting ahould take place in the diffeient mountain ranges of this province, as their geological formation is evidently favourable for gold bearing reefs.
