RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
SATURDAY, AUGUST 23ed, 1862. ' DRUNKENNESS. Two drunkards were charged with the above offence, and fined 20s. and costs, or 48 hours and 7 diyra each. MONDAY, AUGUST 25th. USING THREATENING LANGUAGE. Edward Goring Corbett was charged by his wife, Sarah. Page Corbett, with using threatening language, so as to put her in bodily fear. Ordered to find two sureties to keep the peace for three months, in £SO each, or, in default, to ho imprisoned for three months. ASSAULT. Clifford v. Dickenson.—No appearance. Case dismissed. DESERTER. Oscar Black was brought up and charged with being a deserter from H.M.S. Harrier. Prisoner pleaded guilty, and was committed until the arrival of a man-of-war in harbour. BREACHES OF THE IMPOUNDING ACT. Samuel Butcher was charged with allowing 8 pigs to stray at large in Chancery-lane on the 20th inst. Fined 2s. 6d. and costs. Patrick Bomfield, for allowing two horses to stray at large in Chancery-street on the 18th inst., was fined 2s. 6d. and costs. Daniel Lonnergan, for allowing one cow to stray at large in Victoria Quadrant on the 21st inst, was fined 2s. 6d. and costs. Lewis James, for allowing one horse to roam at large in O’Connell-strcct on the 22nd inst., was fined 2s. 6d. and costs. DRUNKENNESS. Two drunkards were then brought up, and charged with the above offence; the one fined 20s. and costs, the other 10s. and costs, or, in default of payment, imprisonment with hard labour. And, yesterday, the the only business before the Court was another case of drunkenness, which was dealt with in the same manner as the latter case.
