THE LEAGUE OF TEMPERANCE AND THE PENSIONER SETTLEMENTS.
Tlic undersigned being a member of the " Publication Committee," hereby humbly solicits an answer to the following questions; upon being supplied with which, lie would feel obliged to tie members of the Ge»eral Couieil, residents in each Settlement ifthey can. to furnish him with them at the meeting oft ouucil on Monday next. He has taken this step in order the better to e able lain to bring the subject before the Committee, so as to facilitate whatever arrniigemet ts the ( ommittee shall deem best calculated for the diffusion of information on the object of the League, by periodical Lectures in all the Settlements. Ist—On what eveni gin the week the friends of the League would be desirous of holding their meetings? 2nd.— The locality in which the room is situate in which they intend to hold such meetings? 3rd.—The hour at which it would be most convenient for them to bo convened ? Trusting the members to whom this alludes will excuse this urgent request, and also see the propriety of attending to it forthwith, I am their humble servant. Wit. Gunny. Auckland. October 15.
