HARBOUR COMMITTEE.
Wednesday, October 11, 1854. Present :—The Chairman, Messrs. O’Neill, Graham, Dingwall, Lowson, 1)11 worth, Williamson, and Coolahan. There was little business of general interest transacted. The Chairman reported having (in accordance with the Resolutions passed) furnished the Engineer with a Bill specially indorsed, for the sunPof £1,500, accompanied by r n letter of instructions, empowering him to draw for n further sum of 500/. for the purposes stated ; namely’,— the purchase of lighters and a steam pile driving machine. The Chairman further reported that, in compliance with these instructions, the Harbour Engineer had taken bis passage and sailed for Sydney' in the William Denny. On the motion of Mr. O’Neill— A sub-Committce consisting of Messrs. Powell tch, Wil iamson, O’Neill, and Graham was appointed, for ibe purpose of auditing the accounts of Mr. Schultz. 'The Board then went Into consideration of the By-laws lor the guidance of Watermen. Several of these having been discussed and amended, the whole were postponed for further consideration. After which the Committee adjourned.
