As everything—even bearing the shape of a plausible rumour —respecting the forthcoming Governor of New Zealand, must be interesting to our readers in theabsense of authenticated information, we transfer to our columns the following paragraph from the Adelaide Times, which, it will be seen, goes to contradict the report that Sir Henry Young is to be Sir George Grey's successor, and intimates the greater probability of Sir Henry's appointment to succeed Sir William Deunison in Van Diem en's Land. We can only give the paragraph as we find it, merely remarking that the confident tone of the concluding sentence, and the fact that the statement appears in a paper which, being published at the seat of Sir Henry's present Government, may probably have access to facts relating to His Excellency's movements not as well known elsewhere, seem to give the paragraph a claim to more attention than a mere ordinary newspaper on dit: — Colonial Official Chances. —Several important changes in the Government of the Australian colonies are announced. Sir Charles Fitzßoy, the Governor-General, leaves Sydney for India, and will be succeeded by Sir William D.nnison. Sir Georpe Grey is appointed Governor of the Cape of Good Hope; and the Government of NewZealand has been offered to Sir Henry Vountr, but has been refused by his friends, "it is not stated who is to succeed to the Government of Van Diemen's Land—probably Sir Henry Young. We have good reason to believe that this is the case.
