Commercial Record.
New-Zka lander Office, Auckland, September 29th, 1854. We are so dependent upon the Commercial action of the sister Colonies, that our trade must, almost invariably, experience a sympathetic ebb and flow largely ia accordance with theirs. Business being languid in Australia, it cannot well be expected, without some unwonted predisposing cause, to bo otherwise here. At the p'resent moment, our Markets are fully stocked, and matters are correspondingly dull; and as large importations both from England and the Colonies are expected, we see no reason for anticipating any great or sudden re-action. Our Provision Market is still in statu quo ; prices the same as at our last, wavering for a rise or fall, just as the advices from without may dictate. There have been 1000 bushels of wheat, and about 400 bushels of maize, received by small craft, cosistwise, during the week. Larger vessels are loading on both the East and West Coasts. The bng Yarrow is about to sail with the same object in view; and we learn that the Queen of Perth, schooner, is also about to be employed in the same trade. Under such circumstances, with our own supplies of wheat unexhausted : with flour and bread pushed into out Market from Sydney and Melbourne; and with importations of Chilian flour arriving and to arrive in the Australian Markets, we can discover no probability of an immediate rise, unless, indeed, the etocks on che other side be unusually bare. Cattle continue to maintain good average prices. At his fortnightly sale, at Newmarket, on Tuesday, Mr. Newman disposed of a mixed lot at the following figures:—Four Calves at an average of £2 12s. 6d. each. Two Cows with calves, for £2l JOs. the two. Six Cows at an average of £ll 3s. Gd. Two Heifers, £l4 ss. A fat Cow, £2O 10s.
