S. A. WOOD HAS the pleasure to announce that he has resumed his residence in Auckland, and has opened his office in Shorlland Street, opposite to the premises of Mr. Wellesley Hughes, where he will conduct the business of LAND AND GENERAL AGENCY. His long, and almost unbroken residence in the colony, and his intimate connection with its varied interests, as also his very extended circle of friendships, induce him to expect a fair share of public support, which he will at least justify by prompt and untiring zeal. To this business hehas united a connection with Melbourne, and has made several Sales of Auckland properties in that market, where he will always keep a list of properties here entrusted to him for disposal. He is already favored with instructions of sale of some fine properties in the interior, of Rural and Suburban Lands, and of City Allotments and Premises, particulars and plans of which may. be seen at his office. Auckland, 2nd Dec.. 1853. TO BE SOLD OR LET, HERALD, OR WOOD’S ISLAND. r | HIS beautiful ISLAND is situated about miles above the town, and comprises 100 acres of almost level land, part of which has been laid down in grass. The resident, some six years ago, held a very prod table Bush License, and was much resorted to by pleasure parties, and invalids, as also by the farmers and sawyers of the neighbouring mainland. And there remains a long-neglected Garden and Orchard, formed walks, etc. Its waters abound with fish, and its adjacent deep creeks, and limbered lands with pigeon and duck. To a retired person of means, it offers a delicious and salubrious retreat, with delightful water and forest landscape:—an ample field for floral and botanical pursuits, and the never-failing resources of the fishingrod and the fowling-piece. It is eminently fitted for sheep-farming, as it would need no fencing, and would be easily covered with English grasses, which thrive well. To a person of enterprise and tact, willing to hold a Bush License, it would be a speedy fortune. For plans and particulars, apply to S. A. Wood. TO BE LET FOR A TERM OF SEVEN TO TEN YEAS, OR, TO BE SOLD, the late residence of Mr. Walter Brodie, situated in Doubtless Bay, North of the Bay of Islands, and opposite the harbour of Mongonui. This properly consists of 1000 acres, with a Crown Grant. The house is beautifully situated upon rising ground near the sea shore, with a small river running at the side and back of it. The House, containing ten rooms, 7 of which have been lately papered and painted, and with out-houses adjoining. There are two paddocks fenced in, besides several acres of grass land. The Garden is slocked with an immense variety, 37 different sorts of Fruit Trees, all in full bearing, including about 300 Beuanah and Plantain trees, which fruit abundantly, and 700 vines, imported by the owner from the Cape. There is a never-failing stream of water running through the Garden; and also a fall of water near the house, sufficient to turn a small mill in all seasons; and is the best fishing-station on the coast. The neighbouring natives are extremely serviceable, and their labour may be obtained for about one shilling per day. From the stock of Pheasants last year, there should now be about 4000, and a large number of wild rabbits. There is a valuable Copper Mine on the property, which has been practically worked. The produce of the Garden alone would more than pay the rent required, evening in supplying the shipping alone in the season at Mongonui, where there are as many as thirty large ships at one lime. At present the properly is leased as a sheep run, which it is well adapted for. For further particulars apply to S. A. Wood, Land and Commission Agent, Shortland-street. FOR SALE, ACRES of low level GRASS LAND. ** This Lund now yields a handsome rental fur pasturage, for which it is eminently suited, and the advancing value of Stock will long assure it a proportionate and certain income. But the situation-of these lands, upon the Great Onehunga Road, which the Provincial Council has stamped as our great Manukau traffic highway, points it out as the site of a future village. Should no person of just prevision become sole purchaser, it will be subdivided. The periods of payment will be made easy. Plans and particulars at Mr. WooD’sOffice. FOR SALE, A MOST ELIGIBLE FARM of 29 Acres, on the North Shore, situate to the west of the Flag-staff Hill. Its soil is fertile, and capable of raising any kind of crop ; and its beach is avowedly one of the very best fishing grounds of the North Shore, and is envied by the natives for that purpose. The establishment of a Ferry to the North Shore, must inevitably enhance the value of all properties there.—Apply to S. A. Wood. FOR SALE, A FARM upon the Tamaki, of 100 acres, with deep water frontage. It is in full cultivation, and decidedly one of the most improved properties of that famed district. Apply to S. A. Wood.
