A sale of Crown Lands took place Wednesday, but was not marked byan>JJ* of special interest, either as regarded uiei _ offered or tiie purchases made. Afterwards came thirteen allotments at Onchunga, several of which were competed for witi) animation; collectively they produced more than double the upset price. . . . Only one of six allotments offered at Howiclc fouud a purchaser, at the upset price of 30/. for 21 perches. . . . Eight farms on tl e East Tamaki were then offered, of whit hj five were sold at prices varying from tie upset 20s. an acre to nearly twice that amount. The total proceeds of the day's sale amounted to about!2sß?.
