Considering that owing to the late period I entered the held, many voters had become previously pledged, I feci highly satisfied (although in the minority) that I received a very liberal support; and also that the propriety of one of your Provincial Councillors having a seal in the General Assembly, was fully recognized; and that this advantage has been lost simply from the fact of none of your provincial representatives coming forward to carry out that principle by the same marks of your confidence which their election had previously established.
