Newman sold at Newmarket on Tuesday, the 9th instant, about 40 bead of Cattle, at full prices ;—3 years old Steers. £8 to £lO each ; 2 years old do. £4 10s. to £5 10s.; 3 years old Heifers £5 ss. to £7 10s.; Fat Stock, 355. to 40s. per 100 lbs.; 200 Wethers. ex Galatea, 19s. 6d. to 20s. each. The Mares, ex Heather Bell, offered by Mr, J. Newman, on the same day, at the Exchange Hotel yard, sold readily, but competition was greatest in favour of the strong ones, and some disappointment was expressed that they did not prove heavier. Pricei ranged from £ls to £2B—average £2l. A large number of heavy draught horses would meet with ready and remunerating sale in this District at the present time. On Tuesday and Thursday, Mr. Charles Davis (who has lately taken out an Auctioneer’s Lisense) sold the bulk of the cargo of the brig Hargraves, from Sydney. The prices realized were encouraging, when it is con sidered that the stock already on hand of the same desciiptiou of goods was large. Blue Guernsey Frocks, from 355. to 455. per doz.; Fancy Striped do., 40s. to 50s. per doz.; Scotch Twilled Shirts, 325. per doz.. Moleskin Trowsers, Gs, 91. per pair, 3 bushel Sacks, 225. per doz.; Women's Cotton Hose, 10s. to 12s.
