Serpent, Commander Lambert, from Sydney 25th ult., was signalled on Saturday, and arrived in our harbour on Sunday afternoon. She bus touched at ibis poit on her way to England, and will resume her voyage, via Valparaiso, within a few days. The brig Hargraves also arrived early on Sunday morning, having sailed from Sydney on the 241h ult. the day before the Serpent left. The barque Galatea, (another valuable addition made to our Auckland list of shipping by Messrs. Wright and Grabame) arrived from Sydney on Sunday night, tinder the command of Captain Thompson, formerly : Of the Raven belonging to the same owners. The ■ Galatea sailed from Sydney on the 28th ult., and touched at the Bay of Islands to land passengers and cattle, whe.-e she remained 24 hours. ! he has brought down 220 sheep and 12 horses. Only 7 sheep were lost during the passage. The Daniel Webster and Delmar, barques, were laid on at Sydney for Auckland, to sail with despatch—the former on the Ist or 2nd inst.
