The Approaching Elections. —Pursuant to advertisement, angling of .electors of the Northern Division, ' was held at the “Half-Way House,” Epsom, on Thursday last, for the purpose of considering the names of persons suitable to be put in nomination as candidates for the representation of the District in the Provincial Council and the General Assembly, respectively. Captain Powditch was called to the chair. During the proceedings, the following gentlemen were named as fit and proper candidates: For the Provincial Council, Messrs. Allan O’Neill, Paton, Hill, Donovan, Wm. Taylor, Simms, Joseph May, and Laughlin O’Brien ; and for the General Assembly, Messrs. Allan O’Neill and T. S. Forsailh.
