FORMATION OF THE ELECTORAL ROLL.
The Special Meeting of Justices of ll:e Peace for tins purpose was held on Wednesday. Thomas Beckham, Esq., Resident Magistrate, and CaplainTravers, R.A., were the only Justices present, however. The proceedings did not occupy any long time, as there were only two objections to claims in the Lists, and only one objector, y IV , Joseph May having secured for himself the distinction of being the political purist—the single individual to attempt a restriction of the votes of Claimants. Mr. May objected to the claim of Mr. Joseph Crispc to vote in the Northern Division as well as the Southern as a Householder. But Mr. Crispc having proved his occupation, lite Bench decided against the objection. Mr. Mav's second objection was to the claim of Mr. 'Smale, but as there was no proof that notice of tin; objection had been duly served on Mr. Smale, the Reach decided that his name should be kept on. The Electoral Roll was then formally completed, retaining the whole of the names which had been included in the posted Lists.
